Beginnings

Blogging isn't foreign to me. I actually started blogging in 2007 because of our Practical Arts class. It soon turned into my online diary. When I grew tired of it, I turned it into a literary folio of sorts. You can visit it, if you'd like. You might want to check it out if you're an avid reader who has time to spare.

Anyway, I decided to make this food blog because I wanted to emulate that project that was done by Julie in the movie, Julie & Julia. Although I will not attempt to cook/bake something everyday for a year (well, I might try in the future), I would like to have a place where I can keep the photos and recipes of the food I make. If I get some readers, I'd really love to interact with them. It's exciting to meet people who share the same passion as you do. Don't be shy to leave me a comment or you could contact me through e-mail: jemmdeleon[at]yahoo[dot]com.

As for what to expect, I will be posting recipes of baked goodies, mostly. I'm not so good when it comes to preparing real meals. I will try from time to time though. I would also like to say that not all of the recipes that will be posted here aren't mine. I will try my best to label whether or not a recipe is mine or not. Of course, I will leave proper credit for the borrowed recipes.

What else? Oh, maybe I should explain the title of this blog: Jemm's Sugar House. Let's just say it's a tribute to my childhood dream of opening my own bakeshop. I'm not sure who suggested the name, but I know the idea was of one of my relatives. If ever I do open my bakeshop, I would definitely use it as its name. I'm not good at naming things, so it'll do. Also, it's nice when something has a little history to it.

That's all for now.
